Motivation is the key to life, from getting out of bed in the morning to doing homework at night. It can be difficult to find motivation when studying, especially when you’re in that big lull where you feel like you could just sit there all day long and do nothing else. Here are some ways to get motivated to study and get you out of that lull!


Follow successful people

Following successful people can help you find your motivation. Find someone in your field who has succeeded in being successful at what you are trying to do and look at how they have done it. Surrounding yourself with people who are passionate, hardworking and optimistic will improve your motivation levels considerably. 


Watch motivational speeches

Motivational speeches can be a great way to find that burst of motivation. Search for Ted Talks or other popular motivational speakers and watch their videos. The time will fly by, and you’ll feel ready to take on studying!


Take action

The best way to find motivation is by taking action. If you’re struggling, start small. Make a list of activities that sound fun and interesting—even if they aren’t actually related to your work or school assignments. Watching others give motivational speeches is great, but if you never take action for your own ambitions, then it’s not much use. With action comes experience, and with experience comes the wisdom to know what works and what doesn’t work for you.

Split assignments into a series of small steps

If you’re having trouble staying motivated, try splitting assignments into a series of small steps. If there are ten problems in your calculus assignment, don’t think about how long it will take to finish them all—rather, just think about getting through one problem. Then pick another one. Before you know it, you’ll have completed your math assignment without even realizing it! Over time, these small wins can lead to big gains in motivation.
